Host: LEAD at Krea University
On the occasion of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day 2019, LEAD organised a workshop to celebrate the power and potential of women entrepreneurs at Krea University. The workshop explored the existing gaps in the entrepreneurial ecosystem for women.
The keynote address was given by G Sree Vidhya, CEO of Brio Services, accompanied by a special address by Dr Sunder Ramaswamy, VC – Krea University. A compendium featuring the stories of thirteen exceptional women entrepreneurs, aptly titled – “Women in Business: the many shades of grit and perseverance” was released during the workshop. To highlight the importance of grit and perseverance towards the success of women entrepreneurship, LEAD canvassed the nation to find the women featured in the compendium, all of whom came from diverse socio-economic backgrounds but shared common themes of grit and resilience in their journeys.
The event concluded with a panel discussion, featuring experts who shared their personal journeys into entrepreneurship as women.

The experts engaged with the participants to discuss factors that contribute to an enabling and inclusive entrepreneurship environment as well as approaches to encourage women towards entrepreneurial activities.
