Vulnerability to Resilience: Fostering a Just Transition for MSMEs in India

Partner: World Resources Institute (WRI) India

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises play a vital role in India’s economy, contributing significantly to employment generation and overall economic growth. However, they often face unique challenges such as limited access to technology, financial constraints, and market barriers. WRI India organised a two-day conference titled Connect Karo that brought together renowned experts, industry leaders, policymakers, and representatives from civil society to discuss the vulnerabilities faced by MSMEs.

Sijo John, Senior Program Manager, LEAD at Krea University participated in a panel discussion and shared insights on the MSME sector alongside factors that could help enterprises thrive. This session brought together experts and practitioners working with MSMEs at the national, state and sectoral levels to deliberate upon skilling, finance and other support needed to ensure that MSMEs can ride the wave of India’s low carbon journey.
