About LEAD at Krea University: 

LEAD is an action-oriented research centre of IFMR Society (a not-for-profit society registered under the Societies Act), that leverages the power of research, innovation, and co-creation to solve complex and pressing challenges in development. LEAD has strategic oversight and brand support from Krea University (sponsored by IFMR Society) to enable synergies between academia and the research centre. LEAD is a collaborative hub that brings experts from diverse disciplines and sectors together to develop innovative solutions by harnessing innovation, technology and analytics. 

About IWWAGE:

IWWAGE stands for the Institute for What Works to Advance Gender Equality at LEAD at Krea University. This Institute aims to create a platform to promote, synthesize and generate evidence on “what works” for women’s economic empowerment. Despite making significant contributions to economies through various activities, women form a majority among economically disadvantaged groups. Several efforts have been devoted to studying the issue of women’s economic empowerment, however, evidence remains fragmented and work done in silos. IWWAGE aims to work towards adding to the existing efforts.

About the Position:

This project is supported by EU Horizon 2020 funding and is focused on the law’s regulation of women’s reproductive labour. The researchers will need to be well-versed in collecting and analysing survey data on women’s unpaid domestic and care work. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Literature review and secondary data analysis;
  • Ability to liaise with key stakeholders; 
  • Ability to draft survey tools and manage collection of survey data, ensure compliance with data storage protocols, clean and analyse survey data with PI and team members; 
  • Ability to write reports, policy briefs and academic outputs.  

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Economics or Master’s Degree in Economics with relevant experience;
  • The ability to work with STATA and Excel;
  • The ability to write outputs for academic and lay audiences.
