This report presents insights from a study undertaken as a part of the Microfinance Researchers Alliance Program (MRAP), a research capacity development programme run by the Centre for Micro Finance (CMF) at IFMR Research. The study throws light on how the Nalbari and Baksa districts are faring with an informal microfinance system in place. Primarily being one of the most difficult terrain in India, it is interesting to note that the informal devices has been doing well.
