About LEAD at Krea University:

About the Project:

Digital Platforms and Women’s Economic Empowerment (What matters and what works) is an action-oriented research initiative led by Prof. Farzana Afridi (Indian Statistical Institute – ISI, Delhi). The projects seek to harness digital technology to address multiple constraints on female labour force participation and improve women’s labour market outcomes. Supported by BMGF (Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation), the project is housed at CECFEE (Centre for Research on the Economics of Climate, Food, Energy and Environment), Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Delhi Centre and IFMR (Institute for Financial Management and Research).

About the Position: 

The Research Associate will work on one or more projects in labour economics, handling large administrative datasets and secondary surveys such as the PLFS, CMIE-CPHS, and ASI.

This position is ideal for candidates seeking research experience in economics and who are considering graduate studies in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data cleaning and econometric analyses
  • Creating analysis tables in LaTeX 
  • Conducting literature review

Key Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • MA in Economics. Outstanding bachelor’s degree holders may also be considered. 
  • Strong motivation to learn and carry out econometric analyses.
  • Proficiency in Stata and LaTeX. Knowledge of Python is a plus.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and natural language processing is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
