About STREE:
STREE is a technical assistance initiative spearheaded by LEAD at Krea University in collaboration with (DAY-NRLM), which aims to drive women-led enterprise development, with research at the core of its work.
About the Position:
We are seeking a dynamic professional in enterprise promotion and development to support rural SHG-made products and services.
Responsibilities:
- Support the promotion and strengthening of micro-enterprises, collective enterprises, and rural value chains under Non-Farm domain;
- Providing assistance for non-farm program implementation facilitation covering Incubators, Clusters and Nano/Micro Enterprises development;
- Provide technical support to SHGs and rural enterprises (individual and collectives) in business planning, financial management, and product quality and design;
- Support in conducting training programs on business development, financial literacy, product standardisation, and quality control;
- Support enterprises in availing funds from NRLM’s Community Investment Fund (CIF), Community Enterprise Fund (CEF), bank loans, and other financial support mechanisms;
- Support in building relations with potential clients, government departments, and private players for potential collaborations and convergences;
- Work with various partner agencies and stakeholders to implement enterprise promotion activities effectively;
- Support in scaling up successful enterprise models within the NRLM framework;
- Track the progress of rural enterprises and assess the impact of interventions;
- Document best practices, success stories, and learning from field implementations;
- Prepare periodic reports and presentations for review by NRLM/SRLM leadership;
- Introduce innovative product development approaches by incorporating customer feedback, modern design trends, and eco-friendly materials where applicable;
- Strengthen the existing cadre of the grassroot trainers to troubleshoot queries and develop community-level ecosystems to provide practical solutions on enterprise promotion and development;
- Provide support to SRLMs and NRLM in reporting across thematic areas as well as inter-departmental coordination;
- Participate in the existing non-farm programs and initiatives;
- Participating in the Annual Action Planning with national and state teams;
- Planning and facilitating national and zonal workshops/seminars/webinars related to the NFL domain;
- Facilitation and participation in the various meetings, capturing key action points and drafting the minutes, etc., for future references;
- Assist in documenting progress against project implementation plans, results matrix, milestones and targets and compiling quarterly and yearly reports;
- Maintain monthly reports and updates, internally and externally, to key stakeholders;
- Perform other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of NRLM.
Key Qualifications and Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Rural Management, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field from an institute of national and international repute;
- 4-5 years of experience in rural enterprise promotion, livelihoods, or financial inclusion, preferably under NRLM or similar large-scale rural development programs;
- Experience working with SHGs, CBOs, and micro-enterprises in rural areas;
- Understanding of rural value chains, producer collectives, and enterprise promotion strategies;
- Strong skills in capacity building, stakeholder coordination, and partnership development;
- Experience in working with government agencies, financial institutions;
- High levels of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet applications;
- Familiarity with social media and web analytics;
- Creativity and commercial awareness;
- Excellent communication and people skills;
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Hindi is required.
Preferences:
- Knowledge of NRLM guidelines, government and institutional structures, and enterprise promotion strategies;
- Familiarity with financial instruments, credit linkages, and business advisory services for rural enterprises;
- Strong documentation, reporting, and analytical skills;
- Experience in managing for rural poor and /or experience in enterprise promotion, business advisory services, and forward and backward linkages;
- Track record of working with rural areas and promoting non-farm livelihoods in rural communities;
- Experience working with various groups like SHGs, producer companies, joint liability groups, etc.;
- Ability to travel as and when needed.
