About IWWAGE:
Institute for What Works to Advance Gender Equality (IWWAGE) aims to build on existing research and generate new evidence to inform and facilitate the agenda of women’s economic empowerment. IWWAGE is an initiative of LEAD at Krea University, an action-oriented research centre housed at the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR), a not-for-profit society which is also the Sponsoring Body of Krea University.
About the Role:
IWWAGE seeks a dynamic and collaborative Program Coordinator, to work closely and support a team of program staff working toward a shared team strategy. The Program Coordinator holds a variety of responsibilities related to the coordination of programmatic activities with a primary focus on strengthening SWAYAM interventions. SWAYAM is a National Technical Assistance program to the National Rural Livelihoods Mission.
Reporting to the Co-Lead, SWAYAM, the Program Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting team learning and strategy by raising questions and tracking progress made towards outcomes and external context shifts. The Program Coordinator fosters engagement across a program team, understands the needs of the team, and also plays a role in identifying cross-programmatic learning opportunities in collaboration with the team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support in planning, organising and coordinating the program;
- Active engagement in organising big events and ability to produce the first draft of the program brief/minutes;
- Arrange timely meetings to monitor the progress of activities and determine if there is any unanticipated activity that must be addressed;
- Schedule program staff meetings to ensure the delivery of activities;
- Manage documentation work related to administration and finance;
- Prepare program briefs and draft reports by undertaking desk reviews of research studies and other reference materials on progress, achievements and problems during the program;
- Determine specific needs in terms of equipment, supplies, or personnel for different sections throughout the program or project;
- Help in preparing sustainability plans for the program;
- Coordinate activities with relevant team members for program benefit to ensure appropriate use of resources and capacity building for successful implementation of program or project.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience working in a program-related support capacity in the social development sector;
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent; master’s degree preferred in Rural Management/Social Work, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field;
- Fluency in English and Hindi;
- Strong proficiency with the use of software platforms and a high degree of comfort with multiple technology applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and databases;
- Exceptional organisational and communications skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a multi-faceted, multitasking environment;
- Diversity of experience working with a range of actors, which could include government, multi-lateral institutions, think tanks/universities, consultancy firms, civil society, NGOs, networks and the private sector;
- Implementation and/or research experience related to advancing social outcomes;
- Knowledge of national and sub-national policies/initiatives.
