Partners: India Internet Governance Forum, The Dialogue
Today’s digital and physical worlds have become so deeply intertwined that the line between online and offline harms is increasingly blurred. Our Partnerships & Outreach Director, Preethi Rao, was a featured speaker at a session hosted by the India Internet Governance Forum (India IGF) and The Dialogue, where she spotlighted actionable solutions from LEAD’s Gender x Digital portal gxdhub.org to create safer spaces in an interconnected world.
The session delved into complex issues, including how online harassment, blackmail, and the spread of harmful content can fuel cycles of violence. It also explored the profound mental health, safety, and societal impacts of these harms on individuals and communities. To address these challenges, the importance of collaborative action among governments, technology platforms, civil society, families and workplaces was underscored.
The session featured distinguished panellists, such as:
- Allan Asher, Vice President, Competition & Consumer Policy, Australian Risk Policy Institute (ARPI)
- Jyoti Vadehra, Lead, Digital Safety & Online Wellbeing, Centre for Social Research India; Secretariat, Alliance for Cyber Trust and Safety
