About IWWAGE:
Initiative for What Works to Advance Women and Girls in the Economy (IWWAGE) aims to build on existing research and generate new evidence to inform and facilitate the agenda of women’s economic empowerment. IWWAGE is an initiative of LEAD, an action-oriented research centre of IFMR Society (a not for profit society registered under the Societies Act). LEAD has strategic oversight and brand support from Krea University (sponsored by IFMR Society) to enable synergies between academia and the research centre. About the Position:
The Associate is responsible for providing communications support to the team and will bring fresh ideas to the table when it comes to engaging our audiences through a variety of channels. This position will support the development of communications materials and multimedia products that are attractive, consistent, well written, and propel interest and action. The ideal candidate is an outreach, media and digital enthusiast, with exceptional writing and design skills, who has a strong interest and background in impact communications focussed on gender and intersecting themes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in the development and design of digital, web, and print marketing materials.
  • End-to-end development of infographics including but not limited to pie charts, line charts, maps, figure animations, etc.
  • Responsible for end-to-end planning and delivery of videos, like Gender Watch, GIFs and editing of zoom live-streamed panels, webinars and videos for social media.
  • Overseeing the coordination and tracking of all publication materials.
  • Methodically update the website and ensure that contact information, photos, etc. are up-to-date and relevant.
  • Develop creatives and engaging social media posts, identifying industry trends and insights.
  • Manage the day to day handling of all social media channels according to different styles of the various channels.
  • Ability to use online metrics tools (such as Google Analytics) to report on statistics for websites, social media sites, email campaigns, etc.
  • Be conscious of brand standards and guidelines and incorporate them into everything being churned out.
  • Be actively involved in the coordination and execution of meetings and events.
  • Act as a liaison and coordinate with all verticals, teams, agencies, and contractors.
  • Assist in copy editing and content review.
  • Manage editorial and event calendars, and support in organising events.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks as needed.

Background and Qualifications:

  • Has a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, International Relations, Economic Development, Business, or related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience and strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud products tools and software including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere and other software for designing illustrations, graphics, desktop publishing, video editing.
  • Strong understanding of the latest social media trends and strategies to amplify digital content, improve impressions and interactions of social media content.
  • A keen eye for design to create a visual identity, brand and consistent design strategy for various outputs for the organisation.
  • Experience with WordPress or web maintenance preferred.
  • Understanding of web marketing and Google analytics.
  • Strong writing, copyediting, and proofreading skills.
  • Experience in the social impact, non-profit or international development sector, including basic understanding of research data.
  • Self-starter, good time management, creative, with the ability to communicate in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work well independently, and within a team.
  • Can work smart by managing multiple priorities with deadlines in a constantly changing environment.
  • Be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends if the job demands.

Availability to start working by January 2, 2021.
