IndOx launches first ever Impact Film Competition

Partners: Krea University, India-Oxford Initiative at the University of Oxford

LEAD in collaboration with the India-Oxford Initiative (IndOx) is hosting an Impact Film Competition 2021 for young filmmakers keen to make a social impact. With a focus on ‘Perspectives of Mental Health’, it is open to filmmakers aged 18-25 years old. The competition, the first of its kind, follows the success of the ‘India Research Insights – The Covid Impact roundtable’ under the IndOx collaboration which aims to work together for knowledge creation and dissemination in the fields of Sciences and Humanities.

Sakshi Singh, a student from DICE VFS School of Entertainment Arts, has emerged as the winner of the competition. The entries were assessed by our jury comprising filmmaker Akarsh Khurana, psychiatrist and mental health advocate Dr R Padmavati, academic associate and senior research fellow Dr Premila Webster, and Krea professor and author Prayaag Akbar. Sakshi has won a cash prize of Rs 1 lac towards the creation of her short film, along with mentorship support by The Misfits Co.
