The last two decades have been witness to escalating demand for nature-based tourism, especially Tiger Reserves. A primary goal for the Centre and State governments has been to conceptualise and implement strategies that ensure low-impact tourism to these reserves. This study, located in Bandipur Tiger Reserve, Karnataka, seeks to estimate tourists’ Willingness to Pay (WTP) for an enhanced wildlife experience to provide information to policy makers about suitable instruments and strategies that can be developed and/or employed to ensure low-impact tourism.
