Catalyst has built an exciting learning & innovation platform focused on digital finance for the poor. Catalyst’s primary focus is on resolving coordination and market facilitation gaps to accelerate digital payment adoption & usage at the ‘last mile’, i.e., across consumers, merchants, and suppliers, which will be critical to India’s success in the next phase of its financial inclusion journey. Since its launch, Catalyst has entered a formal agreement with the Government of Rajasthan to set up a “digital payments lab” in Jaipur to transform it into a less cash city. The Initiative is working with a shortlist of anchor partners – solution providers, knowledge partners, and channel/mobilization agencies – to incubate, analyse and support scale up of promising business and delivery models related to digital payments among low income merchants and consumers.

Catalyst is now in the process of leveraging work done in the Lab to drive broader impact in the Indian digital financial services landscape as well as address its own longer-term organizational sustainability beyond currently available funding.This programmatic team will focus onthe following broad set of activities:

•     1. Learning, Policy & Partnerships:Contribute new learning & knowledge products, shape policy and regulatory frameworks, and engage innovators, solution providers and implementing agencies to enable new solutions for the last mile

•     2. Digital Financial Literacy:Build ‘best-in-class’ content, tools andprograms to educate Catalyst’s target beneficiary base of small merchants and low income consumers directly as well as indirectly through key change agents

•     3.Solution incubation: Replicate the Catalyst Lab with other State and regional governments and broader stakeholders, as well as scale the Catalyst incubator model to generate a pipeline of new innovative companies that develop solutions in digital finance for the poor.

The Role

The Program Analyst will work on a range ofprojects& activities across program streams.S/He will beresponsible forcompletion of smaller sub-projects that are strategic or operational, and also multi-functional,in nature. For example s/he will be responsible for the following types of illustrative activities:

•     Defining and developingprojects / activities
•     Developing and optimizing tools & solutions (e.g., digital financial literacy modules)
•     Contributing to learning production, including primary/secondary research, data analyses, or drafting
•     Liaising with partners
•     Coordinating partner events and roundtables

He/She will design and implement required instrumentation for the same and ensure to capture project insights in alignment with the project objectives. He/Shewill also assist in stakeholder requirement gathering; understanding the requirements, pain points and solution needs of relevant stakeholders associated with assigned programs/projects and activities. The Analyst will work closely with the Project Owner(s) with oversight from the Principal Innovation Officer toensure timely delivery of the outcomes.

Responsibilities:
The Analyst will have the following responsibilities:

•     Contribute in defining the projects – conceptualisation, preparing concept notes and defining outcomes
•     Develop well defined workplans for the assigned projects
•     Collect feedback on the project design – internal and external to refine the project design
•     in Test applicability of solutions and frameworks with users and key beneficiaries
•     Document learnings from projects with inferences and recommendations for further actions to help achieve Catalyst’s objectives with the program
•     Coordination with partners on various joint activities and events

Required Experience and Skills
The right candidate will be a self-driven individual passionate about digital payments & finance space, with strong analytics and problem solving skills with the ability to design and implement effective mechanisms to capture both quantitative and qualitative data.

•     Bachelor’s degree with at least 2-3 years of experience in data/business analysis
•     Experience in payments industry or consultancy is preferable
•     Demonstrated analytical skills based on previous experience or education
•     Proactive, multi-tasker with the ability to work on multiple projects with strong oral and written communication skills.
•     Collaborative team player with problem-solving mind set as well as able to work independently
