In 2006, ACCESS Development Services was set up with support from DFID (Govt. of UK as a legacy institution to consolidate and build the experiences of a large well run DFID funded microfinance programme – CASHE (Credit and Savings for Household Enterprises). ACCESS was incorporated as a “not for profit (Section 25) Co. to support the organized growth of the microfinance sector in India. Although the original mandate for ACCESS was to engage at all levels of the financial value chain and catalyze greater flow of financial services to the poor; soon after its incorporation, ACCESS realized and recognized the need to diversify its programme portfolio and accordingly expanded and diversified its programme activities to also foray into developing and devising composite livelihoods promotion strategies and programmes. Both programme strands grew at a fair clip, as ACCESS evolved.
Agricultural Technology Adoption Initiative (ATAI)
The mission of the Agricultural Technology Adoption Initiative (ATAI) is to develop and rigorously test programs that improve adoption and profitable use of agricultural technology by small-scale farmers in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.The long-term objective of ATAI is to ensure that the poor derive greater benefit from existing and new technologies. ATAI will achieve this objective by generating rigorous evidence from randomized impact evaluations on problems faced by implementing organizations in order to identify the most cost-effective ways of promoting take-up of these technologies.

Pragathi Krishna Gramin Bank
The first Regional Rural bank (RRB) in south India was established by Canara Bank on 25.01.1976, by name Tungabhadra Gramin Bank.
Subsequently, Canara Bank established and sponsored Chitradurga Gramin Bank, Kolar Gramin Bank and Sahyadri Gramin Banks in Karnataka State.
All the above mentioned four RRBs were amalgamated and Pragathi Gramin Bank came into existence on 12.09.2005.

The project is implemented over a 6 year period extended upto September 2014 at an outlay of Rs 717 crores. The Project covers 2509 village panchayats in 70 Backward Blocks in 16 districts.
